Where is the Hunebed Centre and when is it open?
The Hunebed Centre is in the village of Borger, in the Hondsrug region and the beautiful province of Drenthe. If you want to plan your visit to the Hunebed Centre on GPS, it is best to enter the address Hunebedstraat 27 and that will bring you to the car park. Disabled visitors should enter Bronnegerstraat 12. Click here for the address details.
Opening times are:
Monday to Friday 10.00 – 17.00
Saturday, Sunday and holidays 11.00 – 17.00
Closed: 25 December, 31 December and 1 January
Is the Hunebed Centre accessible for disabled visitors?
The Hunebed Centre is suitable for wheelchair users and a number of wheelchairs and rollators are available for use by visitors. These can be reserved by telephone or e-mail. The Hunebed Centre also has a separate parking area for disabled visitors at Bronnegerstraat 12.
Are dogs allowed at the Hunebed Centre? Are guide dogs allowed?
Dogs are not permitted inside the museum, the Prehistoric Park, the Knowledge Centre, the museum shop or the café. Dogs are welcome in all outside areas and on the café terrace. Special areas are available at the museum entrance where you can leave your dog. Drinking bowls are available. Guide dogs for the blind, deaf and people with reduced mobility are permitted in the Hunebed Centre.
Does the Hunebed Centre have facilities for walkers and cyclists?
The Hunebed Centre is the starting point for a number of walking and cycling routes. These can be downloaded free of charge from our website.
The Hunebed Centre also has a charging point for electric bikes. This can be found at the side of the Knowledge Centre by the sign ‘ION ENERGY INSIDE oplaadpunt’.
How long is my season ticket valid? (Friend of the HC or OekKlub)
Adults can become a Friend of the Hunebed Centre and children from 4 to 12 years can join the OekKlub. This brings not only one year’s free admission to the museum but also regular news and discounts on activities and special events.
The season ticket is valid for 365 days from the date of purchase.
Can I visit the museum café and the shop without buying a ticket?
Yes, both the café and the museum shop are freely accessible to everyone.
Does the Hunebed Centre give a discount on the admission price and which cards are valid?
Entrance to the Hunebed Centre is free for holders of a Dutch Museum Card (Museumjaarkaart). A group price is available for 15 people or more. Click here for admission prices.
